1 min read

SUKKUR: The Hindu Panchayats of different cities and towns have reacted strongly to the recent disappearance of a teenage girl belonging to the Meghwar community and demanded her immediate recovery.

They noted that the Class-IX student went missing from Sahib Khan Jiskani village, located in Rohri taluka of Sukkur district. They apprehended that she might have been abducted and forced to convert.

Through a press release, the Meghwar Panchayats of Daharki, Ghotki, Rohri and Sukkur along with a minority councillor, Ameet Kumar, demanded immediate recovery of the girl.

They criticised the Sukkur police and other law-enforcement agencies for failing to ensure safety and security of citizens.

They deplored that despite lodging of an FIR at the Jhangro police station, and the appeals made to the Sukkur SSP and the SHO concerned, the girl could not be recovered as yet.
