Around 7,000 Students Trained To Handle Emergencies

ISLAMABAD: Although the chances of war between Pakistan and India have lessened following the ceasefire, around 7,000 students from Islamabad-based schools and colleges were trained by the Civil Defence Department to handle emergency situations in the federal capital.

According to a press release issued by the CDA on Sunday, “Six teams of master trainers from the Directorate General Civil Defence and four teams from the CDA ignited a spark of knowledge and expertise in 7,000 students from 70 boys’ schools and colleges, equipping them with essential civil defence skills to safeguard their communities.”

CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who also holds the charge of girector general of Civil Defence, chaired a meeting in which he was briefed on the completion of the first phase of the three-day training by the Directorate of Civil Defence Islamabad.

“The civil defence training programme for boys’ schools and colleges in Islamabad, in partnership with the CDA and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), crafted a pioneering initiative that empowered students to become beacons of safety and resilience,” the press release stated.
