SWAT: The Swat police arrested two suspects on charges of sexually assaulting and killing a teenage girl who had gone missing from her home town Abbottabad some three days ago.

Police registered an FIR under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code after the 17-year-old girl died at Saidu Teaching Hospital following an alleged abduction, sexual assault and murder.

According to FIR No. 624/26 registered at Rahimabad police station, Mingora, the complainant, Muhammad Farooq, a resident of Usmanabad, Abbottabad, reported that his daughter left home for school on June 24, 2026, but did not return. The family subsequently reported her disappearance to the local police, which initiated a search to trace her.

SHO Muhammad Rahim Khan said that on the evening of June 25, the complainant received information that the girl had been found in critical condition in a Swat area and shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital for treatment. However, despite doctors’ efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.

According to the FIR, the prime suspect, Muhammad Muzammil, a resident of Peshawar, abducted the victim, took her to a hotel in Swat, subjected her to sexual assault and later administered her poisonous substances in an attempt to conceal the alleged offence. The complainant also nominated Nafas Yar as co-accused, alleging his involvement in the kidnapping, sexual assault and murder.

Following the complaint, Rahimabad police registered a case under Sections 302 (murder), 376 (rape), 365 (kidnapping or abduction), 337-J (causing injury by administering poisonous or harmful substances) and 34 (acts done with common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The victim’s body was shifted for post-mortem examination, while forensic evidence and other materials were collected from the scene and hospital. Police have launched a comprehensive investigation and are pursuing the accused in accordance with the law.
