KARACHI: A minor boy was stabbed to death and his mother and sister were injured in Orangi Town on 23rd October, police said.

The victims were found injured inside a house near Liaqat School. They had been stabbed with a sharp instrument. The identity of the suspect could not be ascertained immediately.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said they were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where seven-year-old Subhan Shahrukh died during treatment. His mother, Rimsha, 35, and sister Aleeza, 5, were admitted for treatment.

Dr Syed said the deceased boy had suffered trauma to his head and was bleeding from nose and ears, as a result of which he died during treatment.

Aleeza had also suffered trauma to her head and face and her condition was critical. She was later on shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre along with her mother who also had multiple incised wounds over her face and skull and was in serious condition.

SSP-West Tariq Illahi Mastoi said that during initial probe, it had transpired that the incident was the outcome of some personal enmity and a “close relative” was involved in it. The victims’ family has provided ‘vital information’ to the police, the officer said and added that the alleged suspect had himself informed the family about the tragic incident.

The SSP said he had formed a team led by Orangi DSP for the arrest of the suspect and raids were being conducted.

Orangi Town SHO Arshad Ali Khan told Dawn that possible motive and real identity of the suspect would be ascertained only when the injured woman becomes conscious and gives a statement to the police. He said her husband Shahrukh told the police that he was at his work when he received information about the incident.
