How To Educate

The education system of Pakistan is becoming worse each day. The literacy rate of the country determines its success. The more educated the people, the more the country will progress. If Pakistan wants to progress, it must pay more attention to its educational system. Most schools don’t pay much attention to the primary level, unaware that it creates the base of a student’s knowledge. On the contrary, extensive stress is put into higher levels of education.

Students are only taught to receive good grades in examinations, rather than attaining knowledge- a reason why students often feel burdened and depressed when aiming to achieve these results. Private institutions in particular have become more greedy for money. In colleges and universities, the fees can go up to multiple thousands each semester. In government institutions, the merit for fields like medicine is constantly increasing. Thus, our educational system is more focused on grades rather than the skills and willingness to learn.

If the government begins to focus on its educational system, most of the issues can be resolved. The government should also keep a close eye on its institutions, to check whether the same curriculum is being taught. Teachers should be hired based on their skill sets. The fees of all institutions should be reduced to lighten the burden of parents, while primary education should be made free of cost. Scholarships should be given to bright students or ones who cannot afford the fees. The government should make the syllabus easier for the students.
