Islamabad: The Islamabad Police have arrested a habitual offender accused of sexually harassing children across Islamabad and Rawalpindi since 2019.
The suspect, identified as Mansoor, was apprehended by the Ramna Police Station in G-11/4 following complaints from local residents regarding the harassment of young boys and girls. Upon his arrest, authorities also recovered an illegal firearm from his possession, leading to a separate case being registered against him under relevant arms laws.
A special police team launched a detailed investigation, which quickly uncovered a substantial criminal history in Rawalpindi. Police sources revealed that multiple criminal cases were registered against Mansoor at various Rawalpindi police stations from 2019 to 2023.
His alleged offenses spanned several jurisdictions, including Westridge, Pir Wadhai, RA Bazaar, and Kalar Syedan. Preliminary findings indicate that while Mansoor was acquitted in some of those past cases, he faced formal charges and arrests in several others.
Investigators noted that despite extensive prior criminal proceedings, the suspect allegedly resumed his illicit activities before relocating to Islamabad. Mansoor remains in police custody and is undergoing interrogation regarding both the fresh child harassment allegations and the illegal weapons charge.
