Minor maid dies of landlord’s torture

A minor maid died of alleged torture committed by her landlord in the area of Luksian Police Station reported by daily Dawn.

According to the details, Ayesha (12) was working as a domestic help for the last two months with Jawwad Bhatti, the contractor of the Sial Mor Toll Plaza.

According to the first information report (FIR) registered on the complaint of the victim`s father, Tahir, a resident of Chak 84, Ayesha had not met her parents for the last 20 days. On Feb 29, a relative of Bhatti called Ayesha`s paternal uncle, telling him that his niece had died in an accident. When the family arrived at Bhatti`s house, they found their daughter`s body lying in a room. One of her hands was burnt while her body had marks of torture.

The father of the deceased lodged an FIR against Bhatti. The post-mortem on the girl`s body had been conducted at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kot Momin.

According to the Sargodha police spokesman, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and sought a report from the SDPO Kot Momin.
