LAKKI MARWAT: A girl and her mother allegedly died by suicide inside their house in Asgharkhel area of Lakki Marwat district on 9th March, the police said.

They said the incident occurred in the limits of Shahbazkhel police station. They said the bodies were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital to complete medico-legal formalities.

Mohammad Nawaz, 48, told police in his preliminary report that he was ploughing his fields with a tractor when he was called out to his home. “When I reached there I found the women wailing and weeping,” he said.

He said he also found his niece, Zainab Bibi, 14, lying in seriously injured condition inside a room, who later died before being shifted to hospital.

“The girl ended her life by shooting herself with a repeater gun,” he claimed.

The complainant told police at the time of occurrence, his sister-in-law, Razia Bibi, 37, (mother of the deceased girl) was not present at home, hence she was immediately called out.

“Razia could not bear the grief of her daughter’s death, she went inside the same room and fired at herself with the same weapon,” he added.

The complainant said Razia was critically injured and succumbed to her injuries while being shifted to hospital.

He told police his niece, Zainab died by suicide as she was not happy over tense relations between her father, Ayaz Khan and her mother.
