Police officials said that they conducted a raid on a place along a road leading into a riverine area in the Ghotki district and recovered the girl. The action was taken on the directives of Ghotki SSP Dr Sumair Noor Channa and DSP Ahmed Bakhsh Rahoja, SHO of A-Section Akhtar Ali Abro and a police team participated in the operation for the girl’s recovery.

The eight-year-old hostage identified as Manahil, daughter of Safdar, who lived in Surjani Town, Karachi, was kidnapped on July 20. She was brought to the police station, they said.

They said that they had informed the Surjani town police, which had registered a case of the girl’s disappearance, and the victim’s parents about her recovery.

As soon as Manahil’s heirs or parents reached the police station in Ghotki, they would hand her over to them after completion of the legal procedure, said the police officials.
