Woman Kills Minor Son to Save Second Marriage

OKARA: A woman was arrested on April 21 for allegedly strangling her seven-year-old son to death from her first husband to save her second marriage.

According to the complainant, minor’s father Irfan Ali, he received a call from his former father-in-law, who told him that his son Ali Hamza was being tortured by his mother, Nadia Bibi. He claimed that her second husband did not want his son to live with them at his home. Over this, he claimed that Nadia and her second husband Saeed routinely quarreled and he left for his native village Bhuman Shah in Dipalpur.

The complainant said that hearing of the torture, he along with other witnesses went to her house and had to forcibly enter the house. There, he claimed that they saw that Nadia had strangled Ali Hamza with her dupatta. He said that they rushed the child to the City DHQ hospital on a bike, where the duty doctor pronounced him dead.

The FIR said that after the divorce, the complainant regularly paid monthly maintenance for his son but his former wife refused to let their son live with his father.

The Saddar police registered a case against Nadia and her husband Saeed and claimed to have arrested her.
