LAHORE: A woman killed her husband and 16-year-old niece with a sharp-edged weapon in Baghbanpura area, suspecting them of having an illicit relationship.

The Dolphin Squad responded to a 15 emergency call and arrested the suspect, identified as Zeenat, along with the murder weapon at the scene.

According to police, the incident occurred due to domestic discord when Zeenat attacked 16-year-old Shazia (her niece) and 50-year-old Shaukat (her husband) with a sharp weapon, killing both on the spot.

After committing the double murder, the suspect also attempted to attack other family members with intent to kill, but was prevented when police arrived at the scene following the emergency call. Police shifted the bodies of the victims to morgue. According to police sources, the woman had suspected that her husband and niece were involved in an inappropriate relationship, which drove her to commit the heinous crime. The investigation revealed that Zeenat may have had an accomplice in planning the second murder.
