Protest Against Police Failure To Recover Missing Boy

1 min read

KASUR: Scores of residents in Kot Murad Khan staged a protest on 27th September 2024 against the failure of the B-Division police to recover a boy who had been missing for the past 25 days.

They blocked Ferozepur Road near the bypass by parking bikes and rickshaws, burning tyres and chanting anti-police slogans.

Family members of 12-year-old Irfan said he left home 25 days ago to go to his workplace but never arrived. They claimed to have identified a suspect using CCTV footage, stating that police had arrested the suspect.

They alleged the footage showed Irfan with the suspect for hours, during which he was taken to several eateries.

While police confirmed that they had arrested a suspect and were interrogating him, the family expressed frustration that no progress had been made in the case despite the time that has passed.

The protesters dispersed after receiving assurances from DSP Saifullah that justice would be served.
