Private Schools Offer Fee Relief To Children Of Martyred Policemen

KHYBER/BAJAUR: Police have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three more private schools for giving concessions in monthly fee, books and uniforms to the children of martyred policemen in the Khyber tribal district.

The MoU was signed at the office of District Police Officer Rae Mazhar Iqbal with representatives of the three educational institutions situated in Jamrud. As per the MoU, the schools will accommodate children of martyred policemen on priority basis with half monthly fee and other related facilities including provision of textbooks and uniforms at concessional rate.

Rae Mazhar Iqbal said on the occasion that the initiative would boost the morale of Khyber police force while their children would be provided better facilities for a bright future.

In Bajaur, All Bajaur Private Schools Association, a body of non-governmental educational institutions, on March 6 agreed to offer free education to the children of slain police personnel.

The decision was made by the leaders of the association during a meeting with the high-ups of district administration and police department, said a statement.

Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan, the district police officer, and other officials attended the meeting wherein ABPSA president Haji Bahadur Said announced the decision to provide free education to the children of martyred policemen in their institutions.

The statement said that an MoU was also signed between the association president Haji Bahadur Said and district police chief Waqas Rafique, outlining the terms and condition of the agreement.

Besides offering of free education to the children of martyred policemen, the children of the serving police officials will get a 50 percent discount in fee. Private schools will award scholarships to the children of both the deceased and serving police officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the association said that the initiative was meant to support the children of the police officials, who sacrificed their lives for restoration of peace and stability in the district.
