Minor Killed By Celebratory Firing In Karachi’s Keamari

KARACHI: A minor boy was killed and another wounded when people in a wedding ceremony resorted to firing into the air in Keamari on the evening of 6th December, police and rescue services said.

Keamari SSP Faizan Ali told Dawn that five suspects were arrested and legal proceedings were initiated against them.

He said that they were carrying out firing in jubilation at the wedding ceremony in Sikanderabad.

However, the bullets hit two boys, who were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared Malik Zahid, 12, dead.

The second boy, nine-year-old Abrar Mohammed, was admitted for treatment, he added.
