The Saudabad police have successfully recovered a kidnapped boy within hours after launching an intelligence-based operation, while authorities continue efforts to arrest the suspects involved in the abduction.
According to police, unidentified suspects abducted 10-year-old Khizr, son of Danish, from outside his residence near RCD Ground within the limits of Saudabad Police Station on Thursday. The child was allegedly forced into a car before the kidnappers fled the area.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, Korangi’s senior superintendent of police constituted a special investigation team led by the SHO of the Saudabad Police Station. The team immediately launched raids at various locations, utilizing modern technical resources, CCTV footage, and local intelligence to trace the abductors.
Police said continuous intelligence-led operations enabled investigators to identify the suspects’ movements, resulting in the safe recovery of the child from Falcon Colony near Model Colony within about 12 hours of the kidnapping. The rescued child was later reunited with his family. Officials said investigations are continuing from multiple angles to identify and arrest all those involved in the kidnapping. Raids are also being conducted at suspected hideouts of the accused, who remain at large.
Following the successful recovery, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar lauded the SSP Korangi and the entire police team for their swift and professional response to the incident. Lanjar praised the police for their timely strategy and effective operational planning, saying the child’s recovery was made possible through the immediate tracing of the suspects’ vehicle, the effective use of human intelligence, and technical evidence.
He said the police succeeded in narrowing down the suspects’ movements within a short period, enabling the safe recovery of the child. He described the operation as a reflection of the professionalism and commitment of the Korangi Police and said the entire team deserved appreciation for its performance.
The home minister directed law enforcement authorities to ensure the immediate arrest of the absconding suspects and emphasized that those responsible should be brought to justice and awarded strict punishment in accordance with the law.
Lanjar reiterated that protecting the lives and property of innocent citizens remains the government’s highest priority, adding that there would be no leniency for criminals involved in heinous offences such as kidnapping. He said the safe recovery of the abducted child was a matter of great satisfaction and demonstrated once again the professional capabilities of the Sindh police.
