TAXILA: The headmaster of Government Boys High School Hazro has been suspended following a shocking incident in which a Grade-7 student was seriously injured when another student stabbed him on the school premises, officials confirmed on Feb 23.

According to rescue and police sources, the incident occurred during school hours when a minor dispute between two students reportedly turned violent. In a fit of anger over what officials described as a petty disagreement, one student allegedly attacked his schoolmate with a knife.

The injured student, identified as Muhammad Zeeshan, a seventh-grader, sustained multiple stab wounds and was shifted in critical condition to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hazro after a rescue team provided initial medical assistance at the scene.

The attacker was identified as a grade-8 student.

Taking notice of the incident, District Education Officer Altaf Hussain suspended Headmaster Muhammad Asif on charges of negligence and failure to ensure adequate discipline and security within the institution.

Authorities have initiated a formal inquiry to determine how a sharp-edged weapon was brought onto the campus. Police are proceeding with legal action, and further developments are expected following the registration of a case.

The incident has triggered concern among parents and the local community, who have called for stricter safety protocols and improved supervision in educational institutions to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
