1 min read

The study titled “Parent’s Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) Regarding Child Molestation Prevention: A Study of Child Molestation Cases in Pakistan” aims to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practices of parents in district Multan regarding child molestation prevention. The research was conducted through a cross-sectional survey involving 385 parents who were selected using a systematic sampling technique. The data was collected using a questionnaire adapted from previous studies. The results were analyzed using statistical software and presented in terms of frequency and percentage.

The study found that parents had good knowledge and a positive attitude towards child molestation prevention. Results found that while parents had generally good knowledge and positive attitudes about molestation prevention, there were gaps in their communication practices with children. Many did not routinely discuss private parts safety or what to do if molested. The study concludes parents need more training on appropriate prevention practices to discuss with children. Improving parental education and guidance could help address the issue of child molestation in Pakistan.
