TAXILA: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has announced that a maternity and child healthcare hospital will be established in Fatehjang during a public gathering held in connection with the inauguration of a water filtration plant at the village Diurnal near Fatehjang.
Highlighting clean drinking water as a fundamental necessity, Mr Khan said the newly-inaugurated filtration plant would provide safe and quality water to local residents and help reduce waterborne diseases.
The ceremony was attended by local elders, community representatives, and a large number of residents, who warmly welcomed the initiatives and expressed gratitude to the governor for launching development and welfare projects in the area.
He noted that public confidence in charitable initiatives had been restored due to a transparent system, enabling the Governor’s House to receive donations worth millions of rupees for welfare purposes.
The governor stated that provision of better health and civic facilities is his utmost priority, and in this connection, a state-of-the-art dialysis centre would soon be inaugurated in the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hassanabdal, while the green buses route would be extended to Pindigheb during the next month.
