HYDERABAD:

In an unspeakably horrific manifestation of human barbarity, an anger provoked mother allegedly took the lives of her twin sons, aged three years, in Shaheed Benazirabad district on December 18.

“I first slit the throat of one son and then I took my other son to another room where I strangled him before slitting his throat as well,” mother, Komal Shaikh, confessed to the police besides disclosing the same to the media on Thursday.

“I have committed grave cruelty. I won’t forgive myself and even my children will not forgive me.” The airport police arrested the woman after the incident.

The SHO PS Airport Sanaullah Panhwar confirmed the arrest and told that Komal does not appear to be in good mental health.

The family lived in the Gharibabad area on the VIP road. Father, Asim Shaikh, is a banker who was not at home when the tragedy unfolded. Komal told the police that the continuous shouting of her children made her angry.

She claimed that she is under treatment with a psychiatrist in Sukkur. Asim and his brother also confirmed this fact to the police.

The dead bodies of Muhammad Hamza and Muhammad Raza were shifted to Peoples Medical University Hospital for postmortem.
