Refusal Of Marriage Proposal Man Held For Throwing Minor Boy Into Canal

GUJRAT: The Gujranwala police on 23rd October arrested a man who had allegedly thrown a minor boy into canal after the child’s mother refused to marry the suspect.

Complainant Imrana Bibi, residing in Riaz Town in Ferozwala police precincts, told police on Oct 22 that suspect Ali Hassan had kidnapped her four and a half years old son Ali Zamin from the street.

She alleged that the suspect had been trying to persuade her to marry him, but she rejected his proposal.

Police lodged a kidnap case against the suspect on Oct 23 and started investigation.

According to police, the suspect told them during initial investigation that he had thrown the minor boy into Ferozewala Canal.

The Gujranwala SSP investigation has been assigned to the case.

As per the initial police investigation, Imrana Bibi had contracted a love marriage with one Alamdar Hussain but was divorced by him. She was residing with her son in a house.

A spokesman for Gujranwala police said Rescue 1122 teams searched the missing boy in the canal, but could not find him so far.
