14 Held In Anti-human Trafficking And Child Labour Raids

1 min read

HYDERABAD: In a major crackdown on human trafficking and bonded child labor, SSP Hyderabad Adeel Hussain Chandio launched an operation in Qasimabad and on Autobhan Road following directives from Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Aabdin Memon.

According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, multiple raids were successfully carried out within the jurisdictions of police stations Bhitai Nagar, Qasimabad, GOR, and Women and Child.

During the operation, 14 women were detained after failing to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the custody of several minors they were using for begging. Investigations revealed that some of the children belonged to different families, while others had been left on the streets by their parents to be used at different begging locations.

The rescued children were safely returned to their biological parents. Authorities noted two alarming concerns: the presence of unidentified children being exploited for begging, and the lack of valid identity documents among the detainees, who claimed to be from other districts. All detainees remained in custody pending further investigation into the disturbing case.
