GUJRAT: The Child Protection Bureau in Gujranwala rescued a four-year-old girl child who was being subjected to physical torture by the owners of the house where she was ‘employed’ as a maid.

The victim, identified as Muskan, was recovered from the house in Imran Town on the Sui Gas Road.

The bureau had received the report of domestic violence with the minor girl at the house of Humayun Shahzad and Muhammad Irfan. An official team raided the house and rescued Muskan whose face and body parts had torture marks. It shifted her to the child protection centre.

The house owner, Humayun, said he had hired the services of the girl after paying an advance amount of Rs12,000 to her father and fixed her monthly salary.

Police registered a case against the owners of the house, Humayun and Irfan, on the report of an official of the Child Protection Bureau and also arrested both suspects. Police also arrested the father of the girl.
