Three ‘Rapists’ among Five Killed in CCD ‘Encounters’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Five suspects were killed and one was arrested in injured condition in alleged encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Nankana Sahib and Pirmahal.

In one incident, three alleged rapists-cum-murderers of a nine-year-old girl were killed on Thursday night.

According to police sources, on Aug 17 a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from her house in Mouza Allyanwala and her body was later found in a pit adjacent to her house the same day.

Police claimed that during investigation, CCD by using modern technology detected that three youths identified as Haroon, Hussnain and Akif had gang-raped her before murdering her.

Police further claimed that a CCD team was informed that the suspects were fleeing after snatching a motorcycle and valuables from a citizen. Police claimed that after the CCD team chased them, fire was exchanged and the suspects were killed in the crossfire.

In another incident, an alleged robber was killed in an encounter with a Pirmahal CCD team late on Thursday night.

Police claimed that a CCD team was on patrol when three suspects on motorcycles opened fire on them near the Twin-Canals bridge adjacent to Chak 769 GB. The team also retaliated in self-defence and the suspects hid in the bushes along the canal bank.

Police claimed that when the firing stopped, they found one suspect in injured condition and he succumbed to his injuries at the Pirmahal THQ Hospital. He was identified as Muhammad Arshad of Jalalpur Jattan, who was involved in several robberies. Police claimed that he was injured by the firing of his accomplices who had escaped.

Another encounter was reported in Gojra between the CCD and drug smugglers near Chak 307 JB in which a suspect was allegedly shot dead by his accomplices.

A police official claimed that a CCD team led by In-charge Salman Shahid was on patrol when they confronted the suspects. He claimed the suspects opened fire on the team, which was also returned.

Police claimed that some suspects managed to flee while their bullets hit their own accomplice, who died instantly.

He was identified as Ashraf Sameer of Chak 718 GB in Kamalia tehsil. Police claimed he was involved in dozens of narcotics cases.

In another encounter, police claimed that unidentified suspects on a motorcycle opened fire on a CCD police van near Mouza Shahpur on Sindhillianwali Link Road. The CCD team also returned fire and the suspects’ motorcycle hit a culvert.

Police claimed that one suspect was injured and was arrested by the team in injured condition, while his accomplices managed to flee.

He was identified as Muhammad Umar of Pirmahal, who was wanted in different crimes. He was shifted to the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic in Sindhillianwali.
