Seminary Student Gang-raped

SAHIWAL: A 12-year old seminary student was gang-raped by two youths on the mosque premises at Chak 90/6-R.

According to reports, the victim, son of a grocery shop owner in the village had been attending the mosque for Hifz-i-Quran.

The complainant said that over the past two weeks, he noticed his son looked distressed while sitting at the shop. On persistent inquiry, the boy disclosed that he had been repeatedly raped at gunpoint by two village youths inside the mosque’s washroom and the prayer leader’s hujra.

The child revealed that the accused had threatened to kill him if he spoke about it. He had stolen Rs40,000 from his father’s shop to give to the suspects.

The victim’s father shared the matter with the village elders and they decided to approach the police.

SHO Amir Farooq of Farid Town Police Station claimed that an FIR had been registered on the complaint of the boy’s father and both the suspects had been arrested.
