School Sealed for Violating Vacation Orders

CHINIOT: A private school was sealed for violating vacation orders while 53 unregistered schools got notices.

Chiniot District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Azhar Sohail Niazi sent notices to 53 unregistered schools operating in all three tehsils of district Chiniot. The notice said that the Punjab Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 1984 barred all unregistered schools from operations or continuing functioning without an e-License.

Moreover, the ordinance provides powers to impose a fine which may extend upto Rs4m but not less than Rs300,000. The schools were directed to apply for registration through proper channel within three days, failing which strict legal action would be initiated against them. The district education officers were directed to initiate proceedings for sealing and imposition of penalties.

Meanwhile, the Chiniot Grammar School, operating in Chiniot city and continuing its teaching activities despite government notification of closure of all public and private schools, has been sealed by Deputy District Education Officer Ishaq Tabassum.
