50k teachers will receive Google education training starting in April.

Rawalpindi.  The Punjab government has decided to introduce modern technology in government educational institutions with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in classrooms.

Under this project, 50,000 government teachers will receive Google education training starting in April at the beginning of the new academic year. Additionally, 100,000 students will be trained in coding and Google AI.

Smart laboratories will be established in Punjab’s public schools, and schools will be provided with Google Cloud platforms. With Google’s collaboration, new courses for teachers will also be launched, focusing on modern teaching methods. Teachers who complete these courses will receive official certificates.

E-libraries will also be promoted, and the Ministry of Education (MoE) is set to initiate talks with Google to organise online courses in areas where Google’s AI and new teaching techniques will provide training.

Furthermore, blackboards and whiteboards in government schools will gradually be replaced by electronic digital boards, eliminating the use of chalk, as well as black and red markers.

In Punjab, annual exams for classes 1 to 8 will take place during Ramazan, from March 10 to March 20. All 10th-grade (Matric) classes will be concluded by February 23, and the new academic year will begin on April 1.

Approval has also been granted for the free distribution of updated textbooks to students.
