The Punjab Child Protection Policy was approved in June 2025. The policy outlines the Government of Punjab’s commitment to safeguarding children from abuse, violence, exploitation, neglect, and harmful practices, in line with the UNCRC and constitutional obligations. The policy defines roles for all stakeholders, including families, government bodies, private institutions, and civil society to ensure a comprehensive child protection system. It also emphasizes best-interest principles, alternative family-based care, data management, accountability, and multi-sectoral coordination for effective implementation.
