Minor’s Brutal killing

1 min read

The horrific incident in Multan – where a 15-year-old boy was chased and crushed to death by a car – has once again highlighted the plight of children in Pakistan. It also raises questions about the state of orphanages, the depth to which humanity has stooped, and the shameful conduct of lawyers.

This tragedy exposes the dark side of our society that tends to ignore the exploitation of its most vulnerable. Here, children are not viewed as innocent lives to be nurtured, but as cheap, expendable commodities. The way Waseem ran for his life suggests a child running away from systemic physical or emotional abuse – yet there was no safety net to catch him, only the cold cruelty of an entitled master. That a man could look at a fleeing, terrified teenager and weaponise a vehicle to crush him shows how deeply the moral fabric of our society has rotted.
