Man Arrested for Assaulting Minor Girl

LAHORE: A hotel employee has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a seven-year-old girl in the Gulberg area.

According to police, the incident occurred when the minor girl was playing with her younger brothers under her mother’s supervision. While playing, the girl wandered into a nearby private hotel, where the accused, identified as Sharif alias Allah Rakha, a hotel employee, allegedly subjected her to sexual abuse.

When the girl’s condition deteriorated, her mother inquired about the matter, upon which the child revealed the incident. The mother approached the police. Gulberg ChowkiFirdous Market police responded swiftly after receiving a 15 emergency call and registered a case against the suspect. The accused was arrested without delay and handed over to the Gender Crime Cell for further investigation.

Speaking to the media, SP Model Town JahandadAkram condemned the incident and said, “Those who exploit children do not deserve any leniency.” He assured that the police would ensure strict action in the case and provide all possible support to the victim and her family.
