It has been ordered that no unauthorised individuals should be allowed to enter exam centres

RAWALPINDI:

A revelation about fake checking inspectors and bogus inspection officers conducting unauthorised checks at matric exam centres and allegedly facilitating cheating has alarmed Punjab’s education authorities.

The Punjab Higher Education Commission has taken strict notice of the increasing complaints regarding these impostors.

In response, a circular has been issued to all board chairpersons, examination controllers, centre in-charges, and vigilance staff, declaring that no additional inspectors or checkers have been officially appointed. Any purported authority letters used to justify their presence at exam centres have been declared fake, and authorities have been instructed to arrest and file FIRs against anyone attempting to enter an exam centre using such documents.

The annual matric exams began on March 4, and with most papers now completed, the revelation about fraudulent inspectors came 16 days after the exams commenced.

These impostors, armed with fake government-issued authority letters, were not only conducting fake inspections but also allegedly helping students cheat.

Punjab’s Chief Minister’s Examination Task Force has also taken serious notice of the issue.

It has been ordered that no unauthorised individuals should be allowed to enter exam centres during ongoing theory exams and practicals. Furthermore, students, invigilators, and monitoring officers are prohibited from carrying mobile phones inside exam halls.

According to sources at various exam centres, strict measures have now been put in place to eliminate the use of fake authority letters.

Moving forward, no one will be allowed entry based on such documents, and anyone attempting to do so will be handcuffed and taken into custody.
