Hania Murder Case Takes New Turn

1 min read

CHAKWAL: The case of the death of nine-year-old Australian national Hania Ahmed took a new turn when her father, Adil Ahmed, submitted an application to the District Police Officer (DPO), Chakwal, alleging that the incident was misrepresented during the initial investigation and that the FIR was registered contrary to the facts.

In the application, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, Adil Ahmed stated that the alleged robbers did not open fire during the robbery and that his daughter was killed by direct firing from a police constable.

He alleged that a sub-inspector of City Police Station falsely included firing by the robbers in the FIR.

On the night of June 10, Hania Ahmed was killed while her father, Adil Ahmed, and 11-year-old brother Affan Ahmed were injured during an alleged robbery near the Crime Control Department (CCD) police station in Chakwal.

Adil Ahmed further alleged that after being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in an injured condition, a constable posted at the police facilitation counter behaved inappropriately with him.

He claimed that later, police officials accompanied by a sub-inspector pressured him into signing and thumb-printing a blank paper before allowing him to receive medical treatment.

According to the application, the following day, after the funeral, he met the CCD investigating officer and learned that the incident had occurred due to firing by a police official.
