Crime disguised by murderers as drowning in canal

PAKPATTAN:

A college freshman was allegedly murdered by his classmates in Arifwala over a personal grudge, with the suspects later attempting to cover up the crime by staging it as a motorcycle accident.

According to police reports, Zahid Farooq, a first-year student at Government Degree College, Pakpattan, was killed by his classmates, Saifur Rehman and Nasibullah.

The suspects initially claimed that they were riding a motorcycle with Zahid when the vehicle lost control and plunged into a canal, causing Zahid to drown while they managed to escape.

However, suspicion arose when Zahid’s family discovered his blood-stained college bag near the canal.

They immediately alerted the police, leading to the registration of a case against Saifur Rehman, Nasibullah, and two unidentified suspects on the complaint of Zahid’s mother, Jannat Bibi.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had a minor dispute with Zahid days before the incident.

Seeking revenge, they lured him onto their motorcycle, killed him en route, and then staged an accident by pushing the motorcycle into the canal to make it appear as a drowning case.
