Cleric, Accomplice Booked for ‘Rape’

BAHAWALPUR: Sheikh Fazil police in Burewala tehsil on November 5 booked a seminary teacher and his accomplice for the alleged rape of a minor girl student at village No 433/ EB.

According to the police spokesman, Sheikh Fazil police on the complaint of victim’s father ‘I’, registered a first information report under sections 377, 324 and 292-A of PPC against cleric ‘A’ and his accomplice ‘T’.

As per the FIR, the complainant alleged that on Oct 28, when he went to bring his daughter from the mosque room, he found that the suspect was raping her and his accomplice was making a video. The complainant said on seeing him, the cleric fired on him but he remained unhurt. The suspects managed their escape. The complainant said he had been under shock and could not come to police station for the registration of the case after the incident.

The spokesman said police were tracking the suspect while the victim was sent to the hospital for medical examination.
