Bid To Smuggle Minor Girl Abroad Foiled

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad FIA has foiled an attempt to traffic a minor girl to Saudi Arabia on August 16 through a fake marriage certificate.

An FIA official said that during an immigration check at the Faisalabad International Airport, a minor passenger was stopped and profiled.

During the examination of her documents, her age was found to be 13 years, while her marriage certificate was found to be fake. He said the initial investigation revealed that it was an attempt to smuggle a minor girl to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa.

Quoting Hira Firdous, the FIA official said she was forced to marry online to Fiazur Rehman of Burewala, Vehari, presently living in Saudi Arabia and her documents for her travel abroad were prepared with the help of agent Zahid alias Mujahid. The FIA team also arrested him.

A case has been registered under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Trafficking in Persons Act 2018, against Nikah Khawan Hafiz Anis and the accused groom residing in Saudi Arabia.
