ISLAMABAD: At least a dozen kidnapping incidents were registered by the capital police in a single day on Sep 17, police said.
In the first incident, three women kidnapped a newborn baby boy from Pims Hospital. The police registered a case under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code in response to a complaint lodged by the boy’s mother.
The police said the women took the boy outside the hospital. However, the incident came to light immediately, following which the complainant’s mother-in-law, a lady doctor and a security guard searched for the kidnappers.
The three successfully traced the kidnappers and recovered the newborn from them. Later, the kidnappers were handed over to police for further legal action.

In another incident, a married woman was kidnapped along with her Honda City car from I-9/4. The police registered a case under Section 496-A of the PPC in response to her husband’s complaint.
The police said she last talked to her husband on the phone and informed him that she was visiting her friend and would return after a while. However, she never returned, and her husband suspected that someone had kidnapped her along with the car.
Furthermore, a boy was kidnapped from Garden Town, and the police registered a case under Section 365 of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by his mother.
The police said that upon returning from Karachi, she found her son missing. His phone number had also been switched off since Friday. She inquired about her son from the neighbours and came to know that some persons carrying her son’s photograph had come to the area and inquired about him. Later, they reached her house and took away her son.
Moreover, a 15-year-old girl also disappeared from Iqbal Town. The police registered a case under Section 365-B of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by her mother.
She told police that her daughter had left for the market to make a purchase and had been missing since then. The family searched for her but remained unsuccessful in tracing her whereabouts.
Likewise, an unidentified man stole valuables from a house and also kidnapped a woman from Sihala. The police registered a case under Section 496-A of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by her husband.
He told police that the unidentified man stole valuables from his house and also kidnapped his wife.
Similarly, a 21-year-old girl disappeared from Sihala, and the police registered a case under Section 365-B of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by her father. The police said the girl was working in a factory and had left her house for work but disappeared. She had been missing since then and her whereabouts were not known.
Besides, an 18-year-old girl was also kidnapped from her house in Model Town. The police registered a case under Section 365-B of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by her mother.
The mother alleged that a man had kidnapped her from her house.
Meanwhile, a 17-year-old girl was also kidnapped from Naiabadi Barakah. The police registered a case under Section 365-B of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by her grandmother.
The grandmother nominated a man, alleging that he had kidnapped her granddaughter.
In another incident, a driver of an officer was kidnapped while returning from his employer’s office in I-9/2. The police registered a case under Section 365 of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by his brother.
The police said the victim had last handed over the vehicle’s key to his employer at his office and informed him that he was going for some work. He had been missing since then and his whereabouts were not known.
Likewise, a driver of an online cab service also disappeared along with his vehicle. The police registered a case under Section 365 of the PPC in response to a complaint lodged by his father.
The father told police that his son had left the house two days ago and had been missing since then.
Similarly, the police also registered a kidnapping case over the disappearance of a 16-year-old boy from Bilal Town in response to a complaint lodged by his father.
The father told police that the boy had left the house following a dispute and had been missing since then, with his whereabouts unknown. The family searched for him but remained unsuccessful.
The father requested the police to help him find the boy.
