Viral Video Shows Brutal Assault on Teenage Girl in K-P’s Bannu

PESHAWAR: A disturbing video circulating widely on social media has sparked public outrage in the Domel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, showing a 15-year old girl allegedly being subjected to physical violence by unidentified terrorists.

The girl reportedly adopted a masculine appearance, dressing in boys’ clothing and adopting a male demeanour, while moving around various locations in Domel and the nearby Township area. She also made tiktok videos.

According to local sources, she continued this behavior despite repeated warnings from her family.

The incident escalated when the armed men abducted her and took her to an unknown location, where she was physically assaulted. In the viral footage, the girl is coerced into making a statement promising not to venture out in such attire again or associate with boys. After extracting this forced assurance, she was reportedly released.

Domel police officials confirmed that no formal complaint was lodged by the victim or her family so far, and no case was registered. However, authorities stated that they were examining all aspects of the case and would update the public on further developments as the investigation proceeded.

Adding another layer to the controversy, a pamphlet circulating on social media, attributed to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, claimed the group was investigating the involvement of its members in the incident.

The pamphlet warned that if those responsible were found to be affiliated with the organisation, action would be taken against them.

This is not the first such reported vigilantism in the area. Previously, police in Domel arrested a young man named Sahib Khan for allegedly promoting obscene acts and using inappropriate language on social media targeting youth.
