Schoolgirl ‘goes missing’ in Khanpur Mahar

SUKKUR: A 13-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly abducted from an area in Khanpur Mahar in Ghotki while a video clip has surfaced purportedly showing the girl claiming to have contracted a free-will marriage.

A student of class eight, she had gone missing and a kidnap FIR was lodged at the Khanpur Mahar police station on Thursday evening.

Her father alleged in the complaint that his daughter was abducted by three suspects.

Meanwhile, the girl’s family said they were in distress as the girl’s whereabouts remained unknown.

Following the FIR, a video clip showing the girl with a youth surfaced on social media. The underage girl was heard claiming that she had married of her own choice with Aamir Ali Mahar.

The area’s police said that they had launched an investigation into the matter.

The video shows Aamir Ali Mahar making the video the girl displaying a marriage certificate claiming that it was the couple’s.

It was believed that the girl and youth had been apprehended by the Hyderabad police. However, the police have not declared their arrest.
