Punjab to Register Madrassas

LAHORE::The process for the registration of all madrasas in Punjab is set to begin soon, following the completion of consultations by the Punjab Home Department with the Wafaq-ul-Madaris and representatives of various schools of thought.

According to a press release issued by the Home Department, an agreement has been reached between the Punjab government and the Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-e-Madaris on the registration of madrasas. Taking all recommendations into account, the department has prepared an online registration form.

Under the mechanism, all madrasas will be required to provide their data online, and no institution will need to visit any office in person. Through the online form, madrasas across Punjab will be registered with the Punjab Charity Commission. The department stated that consultations were held with representatives of all schools of thought and senior religious scholars during the preparation of the online form. The registration process for madrasas in Punjab will commence shortly.
