In a tragic incident on 14-August-2025 morning, a woman slaughtered her two minor children in DHA. The deceased children were identified as eight-year-old Zarrar and four-year-old Samiha. Police said the mother, Adeeba, suffered from a psychological disorder.
The children’s parents had earlier divorced and a court had given the custody of the children to their father Ghufran Khalid. The incident took place on Thursday morning in a house situated on Khayaban-e-Mujahid within the limits of the Darakhshan police station. Police said they received the information from locals of the area, upon which they rushed to the house where they found the two children lying on the floor.
Police took the woman into custody and shifted the slain children to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. Police also claimed to have seized the knife used in the incident.
District South SSP Mahzoor Ali said Adeeba and Khalid divorced through a court in 2024 and the court handed over the custody of the children to the father. He added that the children used to come to meet their mother after different intervals.
The children’s father was an employee at a private company and the mother lived alone at her house, SSP Ali said, adding that the children went to their mother’s house on Wednesday afternoon.
