PARACHINAR: An eight-year-old girl died and four other children were hospitalised after inhaling toxic fumes inside a storage room on 29-July-2025.

According to hospital and police sources, the room had been sealed for a long time and contained pesticide chemicals used to protect stored grain from insects.

The accumulation of toxic gas over time turned the enclosed space hazardous.

The deceased girl, identified as Wajiha, reportedly opened the door of the storage room and entered, instantly succumbing to the fumes.

Moments later, four other children also entered the room and lost consciousness due to gas exposure.

All four were rushed to Sadda Hospital, where doctors confirmed that their condition is now stable and out of danger.

Family members stated that the room had not been opened for quite some time, and they were unaware of the lingering toxic gases. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
