After police detained the husband, Vejhu Bheel, the man admitted to burning his wife Maryam Bheel and children Harlal, 5, and Khushal, 2, to death. SHO Khuda Bakhsh Ranjhani said the husband claimed that he had killed his wife and children over honour because she was involved in an extramarital affair.

The doctors who conducted the woman’s post-mortem examination said she had been pregnant. They said that the initial autopsy also revealed that one of her legs had been amputated, while signs of torture were also found on the five-year-old victim.
