LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat launched an enrollment campaign for the first early childhood education (ECE) project on 28th February.

He enrolled his son as the first student at the Nawaz Sharif Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Education in the Children’s Library.

The minister claimed that the institution will be Punjab’s first internationally recognised government school for ECE.

“This model project will be unique in its quality and approach.”

“By enrolling my own son, I am demonstrating my complete trust in the centre and it will reinforce public confidence in this institution,” he added.

The enrollment drive will continue until April 3. The minister emphasized that the curriculum for the center has been designed to meet modern educational requirements.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to transforming this institution into a hub of digital innovation and excellence.

“We aim to establish similar centers of excellence for Early Childhood Education at both district and tehsil levels across Punjab,” he announced.

Mr Hayat said that this educational initiative will include model classrooms, a media room, a swimming pool, an art and craft room and other state-of-the-art facilities.

“Students will have access to international-level academic and extracurricular opportunities,” he said.

The project is designed to promote play-based learning, ensuring an engaging and child-friendly educational experience.
