SWABI: In a gory incident, a man slaughtered his four minor children and later committed suicide here on 13th February, the police and rescue officials said.
When contacted, SHO Yar Hussain police station Abdul Wali Khan said that when they reached the house, the dead bodies were lying in a pool of blood inside a room.
The neighbours of Saifullah Islam (father of the children) said that the man was a tailor and was living a peaceful life with his family but a few days back he had a clash with his wife over some domestic issue. The annoyed wife went to her parents house, leaving all the children with Saifullah, one of the neighbours said.
He added that two days ago after failing to bring his wife back, he sent his two-year-old daughter through a relative to his in-laws, but the wife returned the child.
The neighbours said that it was difficult for Saifullah to take care of the four children leading him to commit the crime.
The five persons were identified as Saiful Islam, 42, Ziaul Islam, 12, Abdul Rahman, 10, Sana Islam, 8, and a two-year-old daughter.
All were later buried in Yar Hussain graveyard.
