Students, Parents Protest Lack Of Teachers In Charsadda Girls School

CHARSADDA: Students, their parents, political activists, and councillors staged a demonstration against the lack of teachers at a government girls’ primary school in Tangi tehsil here the other day.

The protesters set a 15-day deadline for the appointment of teachers to the school in Sahibzada Kallay area of Gundheri union council or they would lock it up.

The protesters said that the school had been without a teacher for the last one year. They said 200 boys and girls were enrolled.

The parents and activists said they repeatedly requested the relevant authorities to post teachers to the school, but to no effect.

They said due to the authorities’ negligence, not only was the educational future of children at risk, but there was also significant disappointment and anger among the parents.

The councillors urged the authorities concerned to appoint teachers to the school with immediate effect.
