QUETTA: The family of missing Musawar Kakar, along with political party leaders and members of the Balochistan Traders Association, have said that they consider the failure to recover Musawar Kakar, who was abducted on November 15, a failure of the relevant departments.

The Balochistan chief minister had announced the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), but despite one and a half months passing, the boy has not been recovered. The Sit-in Action Committee has decided to call a grand jirga for the recovery of the Muasawar Kakar and to determine a course of action.

This was stated by Abdul Rashid Nasir of the Awami National Party, Gul Khilji of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Haji Bashir Ahmed Kakar of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Ghulam Nabi Marri of the Balochistan National Party, Abdul Rahim Kakar and Malik Noor Ali Kakar of the Balochistan Traders Association, among others, during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on 25-December-2024.

They said that the 9-year-old Musawar who was abducted from the Multani Mohalla area of Quetta on November 15, has still not been recovered. They expressed that lawlessness, abductions, and insecurity are rampant in Balochistan. Protecting the public is the primary responsibility of the government.

They also mentioned that the provincial government is spending around Rs90 billion annually on security, yet 600 of the 800 cameras installed under the Safe City project in Quetta are non-functional.

To recover the abducted child, all parties staged a 14-day protest. The government had promised the recovery of the abducted individual by December 10, and the Supreme Court also took notice of the issue.
