Teen gang-raped three weeks ago dies

KASUR: A 13-year-old boy allegedly subjected to gang rape succumbs to his injuries on 22nd June 2024 at Maan Singh Village in Kot Radha Kishan police precincts.

On June 5, unidentified suspects allegedly gang-raped the boy and later threw him on a road in a critical condition. According to complainant, his nephew who worked at a local tea stall did not return home on June 5. The family searched the boy who was found near Cinema Mor of Kot Radha Kishan in a critical condition.

The family informed the police who shifted the boy to THQ Hospital from where he was referred to Lahore owing to his critical condition.

Initial medical report suggested that the boy was sexually assaulted and physically tortured.

On 22 June, the boy died after remaining in hospital for about 18 days.

Police lodged a case against unidentified suspects under sections including 324 (attempt to murder), 377 B (punishment for the offence of sexual abuse), and 376 iii (rape of a minor person) of Pakistan Penal Code.

Police claimed to have arrested five suspects a week back and were interrogating them.

Locals, traders and relatives of the victim, staged a protest demonstration at canal bridge to express their concern over failure of law enforcement agencies to protect their lives, and threw traffic out of gear.

The agitators dispersed after Saddar circle DSP Khalid Aslam assured them of justice.

Earlier on Friday, a suspect (nominated in the first information report) kidnapped a seven-year-old boy at village Rawal Jagar in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan police station and allegedly raped him.

Police lodged a case against the suspect on the complaint of the mother of the survivor.
