ISLAMABAD: In a bid to alleviate burden on young students, government primary schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) are set to introduce a new policy under which students will no longer be required to carry their school books back and forth between their homes and institution.
Instead, the schools will provide pigeon holes and book racks in the classrooms to store the books, making it a child-friendly and convenient learning environment.
This initiative aims to reduce the weight of heavy school bags and promote a healthier and happier learning experience for students.
Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, while talking to Dawn, said he had been working on the policy for the last over a month and all arrangements would be finalised before the schools open.
`The decision is a welcome move for parents and students alike, and is expected to have a positive impact on the young minds. The new policy will come into effect from August 1, and the necessary arrangements are being made in all government primary schools in the capital, he said.
Mr Wani hoped that the new policy would bring a smile on the faces of young learners.
