Children’s Right To Development

The right to development is a foundational principle that guarantees every child the opportunity to realise their full potential, including physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and cultural development.

Article 6 of the UNCRC obliges States to support the holistic development of children.

This section examines the right to development through the lens of education, emphasising critical elements such as access, quality, learning outcomes, equity, financing, and the indispensable role of play in nurturing a child’s overall growth.
