Fake Pir, Brother Booked for ‘Rape’ of Minor House Help

1 min read

SAHIWAL: Fateh Sher police have booked two brothers, one of them claiming to be a faith-healer, for allegedly raping a minor girl working as a help in their house repeatedly.

As per the police sources, ‘AM’, a tailor by profession, resided in Furniture Bazaar in Sahiwal, along with his brother ‘AS’.

The police say that ‘AM’ claimed to be a Pir (faith healer), attracting a large number of people who sought “spiritual blessing” and amulets from him.

According to police, one of his followers, Sajid, a labourer from Rehman Town, 93/9-L village, left his seven-year-old daughter, ‘A’ at the suspects’ house four years ago to work as a house help.

Sajid says that the suspects had assured him that they would look after the girl and also bear the expenses of her education.

He says that initially he was allowed to visit his daughter one a month.

The complainant says that on May 1, 2026, when he visited the suspects’ house to meet his daughter, he was denied access to her by ‘AM’, who also admonished him for visiting his house frequently.

Later, on May 13, the minor girl managed to call her father from an unknown phone number, saying she had been sexually assaulted by both brothers repeatedly over the past two months.

She further stated that the suspects had threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter. Distressed by the revelation, Sajid convened a panchayat (village jury), which confronted ‘AM’ and succeeded in recovering the girl from the suspects, who hurled threats at Sajid, warning him of dire consequences if the matter was reported to police.

However, Sajid lodged a formal complaint with Fateh Sher police 16 days later, demanding a medical examination of his daughter.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under section 375A of the Pakistan Penal Code against the suspects — ‘AM’ and ‘AS’.

The police got the girl medically examined and the report confirmed she had been sexually assaulted.

Police are investigating the matter, while none of the suspects has so far been arrested.
