Siblings Found Dead

BUCHIANA: Police have registered a murder case and arrested three suspects, including the victims’ mother and stepfather, after the bodies of a teenage stepbrother and stepsister were found in fields in Chak No. 566-GB in Buchiana.

According to police, the gruesome incident created fear and panic in the area after the bodies were discovered on the morning of May 21.

Police officials, including the SP Jaranwala and SHO Buchiana, reached the scene along with a Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) team after receiving information about the bodies lying in the fields. Evidence was collected from the site before the bodies were shifted to hospital for legal formalities.

Police said the body of 18-year-old Wasif alias Malangi was found hanging from a tree, while the body of his 13-year-old stepsister Fatima was lying nearby.

A murder case was registered at Buchiana police station on the complaint of Wasif’s biological father against the victims’ mother Nusrat Bibi, her husband Muhammad Arshad, Nasir son of Ghulam Rasool, Aslam, Abdul Razzaq and two unidentified suspects.

According to the complainant, his former wife Nusrat had married Arshad after leaving him. He stated that Wasif was his son from Nusrat, while Fatima was born from Nusrat’s marriage to Arshad.
